In 1995, I was further expanding my contesting passion and skills. I was even dabbling a bit in CW and RTTY, but most was still phone. Working at what was still AT&T (the OLD monopoly, not the new one!), I enjoyed the CQWE and I discovered the PA QSO Party was one of my all-time favorites.
K3II invited me to his QTH for the CQWW DX Phone contest. I met Jim through the Carbon ARC and I had come to admire him and his awesome station. It was an honor to operate with the legend himself in one of the big contests running big power into big antennas. Jim showed me what REAL contesting was like ... and I loved it!!
